A bird lived in this room (not ours, the prior owner’s). It was a whole guest room dedicated to a gargantuan bird cage and a feathery fiasco that repeated everything you said. Hilarious. Needless to say, we did a “little” to it. All new flooring, paint, trim and paneled wall treatment. Totally overhauled closet that also needed rewiring. New ceiling light fixture. Ev.ery.thing.
Notice the deer-in-headlights look in my husband’s eyes. I’ve seen it many times (it’s a classic), especially when we first bought this house. Also, check out the chair rail. Once we removed the wallpaper, the walls were in really bad shape, so we decided to keep the chair rail, and design around it. In the end, we installed vertical pieces of trim wood every few feet for a modern, panel-like look.
Revived & reupholstered rocking chair. Rehabbed dresser (that used to be mine as a kid). New shelves. Gallery wall. And color. Lots & lots of color.
